Incorporating a vast array of techniques and mediums into her painting practice, Charlotte Houette stretches the boundaries of the pictorial object by exploring its relationship to space, language and the image. Through her visual and technical experiments (such as strategic trompe-l’oeils and multiple illusionary effects) Houette creates antagonistic spaces between current notions of abstraction, technology and reproducibility.

Charlotte Houette was born in 1983 in Chambray-les-Tours, France. She currently lives and works in Paris, France.
